Privacy in the Cloud.

Microsoft had a significant win on the 14 July 2016 with the U.S. Court of Appeals ruling in it’s favour against the global application of U.S. search warrants for people’s email in it’s Office 365 Cloud Service.

This means that data is protected by the laws of their own countries rathen then it applying to the U.S. and the U.S. government does not have the authority to use search warrants beyond it’s borders.

Companies using Microsoft Cloud Services such as Office 365 that do not reside in the US, will have their data protected by the laws of the countries they operate from.
